Importing translation memories

To import an existing translation memory, follow these steps:
    Create a translation memory:
  • Name: Provide a name for your translation memory.
  • Languages: Specify the source and target language of the translation memory.
  • IMPORTANT: Connect the TM to Modern MT. This connection is crucial for ensuring compatibility and functionality within the  termbase.io  ecosystem.
    Importing a TMX/XLSX or SDLTM file:
  • Upload your file.
  • Ensure that you select the correct language codes during the upload process; failure to do so may result in an empty import.
    Move the TMX import to the translation memory created in Step 1:
  • Why this step is important: Imports and TMs are kept separate to allow you to import into already existing TMs. This organization helps maintain clarity and avoids overwriting existing translations.
