The Job section in  termbase.io  is divided up between Translation and Copywriting Jobs:

What is a Job in  termbase.io ?

A Job in  termbase.io  represents a collection of content that you want to translate or copywrite. Think of it as a project where you organize everything you need for the task at hand, including files, settings, and progress tracking.

Creating a New Job

Click on the “New translation” / “New copy” button in the upper left corner to  create a new Job .
After the Job is created, it will appear in the Job overview for translation or copywriting Jobs, which includes the following details for each Job:

Key Features of a Job

  • NameThis is the name of the project given by the creator. It should be clear and specific to help identify the Job later. This name can be entered by the user or generated automatically if left blank during creation.
If you click on the column title “Name”, the whole Job table is sorted in ascending/descending alphabetical order.
  • Job Id (#)The Job Id helps users quickly find a Job. It is entered manually when creating a Job and won't be filled in automatically if it's left blank.
  • CreationShows the Job’s creation date.
  • DescriptionThe description tells the user more about the Job. However, it should not be used for rework breifings or instructions, as this field will not be visible for them.
  • PreparationThis column shows the current  Preparation Status  of a Job.
  • FilesIndicates the number of source files belonging to the Job.
  • ReworksThis column shows how many rework steps have been assigned from this Job. You can assign a  rework  step to a user by clicking on “Add rework.” A window will open where you can enter all the necessary options and information.
  • FinishedWhile a Job is ongoing, this column displays the “Finish” button. When clicked, it will show the date the Job was completed.
  • RoleThis column shows the role the current user has within each Job.
  • TeamsShows what team the Job belongs to.
  • ActionsThis column contains a clickable menu with the following options for each Job:
  • Edit JobOpens the “ Edit Job ” window in which you can edit the Job’s details.
  • Manage workflowsOpens the “ Manage workflows ” window in which you can choose from the workflows set up in your system to ensure tasks are completed in the right sequence and with the correct approvals.
  • Show configurationOpens the “ Show configuration ” window in which all resources used in the Job are listed, i.e. termbases, translation memories, machine translation engines, etc.
  • Send to termfactoryOpens a window to  send the Job to the termfactory , allowing you to extract terms from the Job and import them to your termbases.
  • Update Translation MemoriesOpens a window to  update the connected translation memories  with the current status of the Job.
  • Export target filesDirectly  exports the target file(s)  with the current status of the Job in a zip file.

Search Jobs

Use the search box at the top left above the Job overview to find (parts of) Job names.

Job Status

The “ Preparation” column shows the current Job status:
The following Job Statuses exist:
Name
Explanation
Preparing
Is displayed while the Job is being set up and processed by the automated steps. A percentage shows how much of the preparation work is done.
Done
Indicates that preparation is done and the Job can be opened and worked on.
Failed
Indicates that something went wrong during preparation, e.g. a source file was uploaded for which no file type is prepared yet.
